Initiation of the Bright Moon Salon

Our honored guest and Völva, Kari Tauring.

For those of you who’ve had more than a 15 minute conversation with me over the last several years, the Law of Jante has likely come up. I am fascinated by sharing it with folks, as it helps us unlock some of the cultural mysteries of the upper midwest. If you aren’t sure what the Law of Jante is about, please check out this post about a collective painting I created in 2018 about it.

I usually direct folks to check out the work of Kari Tauring, as she is well-versed in what brought us to this point culturally. For years, I have been interested in working with her on a Horn Ceremony to find a way to bring back the deep tradition that was erased ages ago and left us without traditions within Scandinavian-heritage-dominant communities to truly lift each other up, celebrate the brilliance of the individual, and most importantly feel seen and respected by our communities.

Well, my dear friends- Monday July 11th 2022 is the day! Kari Tauring is traveling to the Arthouse to lead us the Horn Ceremony to initiate the Bright Moon Salon, a monthly meet-up at the Arthouse that allows us to share our creativity and brilliance in focused community in the days leading up to the full moon. This is a time for sharing, celebrating, and letting ourselves shine. To truly witness the magnitude of those who join us in community, and to feel lifted up ourselves.

For this inaugural event, the format will be focused on the Horn Ceremony. Kari will educate us on the history of the Horn Ceremony and we will all participate and speak into the horn. Kari will have her books and CDs for sale, and will be doing a Rune pull for each attendee.

6-8pm- Ceremony

8:15-9pm- Individual Rune Pulls and Community Connection

Attendance is limited to 15 due to time and focus. The cost of this ceremony is $20 per attendee (+tips encouraged for Rune Readings) to cover Kari’s professional fee for the ceremony and travel costs.

Please reply to your personal invite if you received one, or email me at hello(at)missannalee(dot)com to request a reserved spot. xoxoMs.AnnaLee
